OVER 40 YEARS OF ENGINEERING EXPERTISE IN BUILDING SERVICES AND ENERGY PERFORMANCE
Founded in 1984 by Philippe BRUN, IBI BRUN is a building services engineering consultancy historically rooted in the heart of the French Alps, near Chambéry.
For more than four decades, the company has developed specialist expertise in building technical systems, including HVAC, building services, ventilation, electrical engineering and low-current systems.
Today, IBI supports a wide range of new-build, refurbishment, extension, modernisation and energy-efficiency projects across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

A HISTORY ROOTED IN THE FRENCH ALPS
Since its creation, IBI has developed from its base in Saint-Baldoph, Savoie, building an in-depth understanding of the Alpine environment, its buildings and their specific technical requirements.
In 2022, the company entered a new chapter when it was taken over by François de Williencourt.
This transition reflects a commitment to preserving IBI’s long-standing expertise while further developing its capabilities around the key challenges shaping the future of buildings: energy performance, environmental transition, innovation and evolving user needs.
The team has continued to grow, with the 2026 brochure reporting 11 employees, compared with 7 in 2024, reflecting this new phase of development.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEERING
IBI provides expertise across the technical systems that contribute to the operation, comfort and performance of a building.
Its teams develop solutions in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical engineering and low-current systems, with particular attention to their integration within the architectural design and their energy efficiency.
This approach considers technical systems not as isolated components, but as an integrated whole designed to enhance building performance, functionality and user comfort.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE AT THE HEART OF ENGINEERING
As the building industry undergoes a major environmental transformation, IBI places energy performance at the heart of its engineering approach.
The company supports both new-build and refurbishment projects in improving their energy and environmental performance, combining regulatory requirements with a broader commitment to sustainable development.
Its teams focus particularly on optimising energy performance, ensuring high safety standards and protecting the environment.
This expertise is supported by advanced tools for dynamic thermal simulation, photovoltaic system design, lighting calculations, BIM modelling and HVAC system analysis and optimisation.

EXPERTISE ADAPTED TO MOUNTAIN PROJECTS
Its location in Savoie has naturally enabled IBI to build extensive experience in Alpine and mountain projects, where climatic conditions and energy-performance objectives place particular demands on the design of building systems.
This expertise extends across residential developments, hotels, public buildings, commercial facilities and sports infrastructure.
The company’s portfolio includes projects such as Yellowstone Lodges in Courchevel, Alaska Lodge in Val d’Isère, Le Snoroc in La Plagne and Le Quartz in Peisey-Nancroix, with assignments covering building services and electrical systems

REFURBISHMENT AND THE ENERGY TRANSITION
Another key strength of IBI lies in its ability to work with existing buildings and assets.
Through diagnostics, thermal renovation, systems modernisation and energy optimisation, its teams support the transformation of existing buildings to meet new standards of performance and comfort.
The brochure highlights several ambitious energy renovation projects, including operations targeting BBC Rénovation performance and reductions in energy consumption of up to 50%.
IBI therefore operates at the intersection of two major challenges: extending the life of existing buildings while sustainably improving their performance.

A CLOSE-KNIT TEAM, COLLECTIVE EXPERTISE
IBI’s organisation combines individual expertise with collective intelligence.
Its human-scale structure encourages close relationships, responsiveness and direct involvement throughout each project, while the diversity of its team enables knowledge to be shared and technical challenges to be anticipated from the earliest design stages.
This culture is built around three values highlighted by IBI: commitment, agility and excellence.

IBI BRUN WITHIN THE ENGINEERING GROUP
Within The Engineering Group, IBI BRUN contributes specialist expertise in building services, technical systems and energy performance.
Its hands-on experience, knowledge of Alpine environments and expertise in energy-related challenges complement the other disciplines represented within the collective.
By combining these capabilities with the Group’s expertise in structural engineering, construction cost management, project delivery, client advisory and other technical disciplines, IBI contributes to an approach in which architecture, structure, building systems, costs and performance can be considered together.
IBI therefore retains the identity, proximity and specialist expertise it has built since 1984, while contributing to a broader, collaborative vision of engineering.
Over 40 years of experience. Building services expertise. Engineering for a more efficient and sustainable built environment.
